Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

Remove/Install Sensor

Remove/Install

DANGER:

-

Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the hydraulic hoist and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by
the vehicle manufacturer.

-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from handling hot or glowing objects.

-

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Remove bottom engine compartment

NOTE:  Installation: Install engine compartment paneling paneling only after engine test run.

Unclip electrical connector (G3/3x1 up to G3/6x1) and feed line of left or right O2 sensor upstream or downstream TWC (G3/3 up to G316) from
retaining clamps

Disconnect electrical connector (G3/3x1 up to G3/6x1) of left or right O2sensor upstream or downstream TWC (G3/3 up to G3/6)

Remove left or right O2 sensor upstream or

NOTE:  Installation: Coat the thread with heat-downstream TWC (G3/3 up to G3/6) resistant lubricant.

O2 sensor to exhaust pipe/exhaust manifold:
-

(Engine 112, 113.967) = 55 Nm

-

(Engine 113.990 = 50 Nm

-
