DANGER:

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through
burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking. Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only
into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery
NOTE: Do not connect quiescent current retention device.

Remove cover (1) of fuse and relay box (F1)
NOTE: Installation: Check rubber seal in cover, replace if required. Cover must be located in the groove at the rear.

Release and unplug electrical plug sockets (2,3)

Release detents (4) and remove ESP, SPS and BAS control module (N47-5) upwards

Install in the reverse order

Perform basic programming

Read out fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS and erase if necessary
NOTE: Stored faults must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work. The stored faults can be caused by defective
components, assembly as well as lines disconnected during test work and by simulation.
