Steering Wheel Heater Not Operating Correctly or Inoperative at Cold Temperatures
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the steering wheel heater is not operating correctly, this may be due to differences in this
system in comparison to other models. The above models have a operating temperature of 26°C, +/- 2°C; for comparison purposes, models 220 and 230
have a operating temperature of 35°C, +/- 2°C. It should also be noted that the steering wheel heater is automatically deactivated when the interior cabin
temperature exceeds 30°C on all models. To accurately diagnose the system, use an electronic thermometer to measure the steering wheel temperature.
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles within VIN range A219405 up to A380430 that the steering wheel heater turns off at interior
temperatures below -10°C, replace the control unit. Refer to WIS document AR46.11-P-0001T.
