Special Tools

SPECIAL TOOLS

NOTE: This procedure requires these special tools:

a. Tool# 001 589 72 21 00 or equivalent (torque wrench).
b. Tool# 120 589 02 02 00 or equivalent (counter holder).
c. Tool# 103 589 01 09 00 or equivalent (hexagon socket).

Viscous Fan And Pulley

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1. Remove the fan cover ring by withdrawing locking pin and turning ring to the left. Place ring over fan.

2. Install special tool# 120 589 02 02 00 or equivalent (counter holder) between viscous fan and belt pulley.
3. Use special tool# 103 589 01 09 00 or equivalent (hexagon socket) and unscrew the fan clutch retaining bolt.
4. Remove the fan with fan clutch.
5. Install in reverse order, tighten viscous clutch bolt to:

45 Nm (33 ft. lb.)
