A/C - Water Entry Into Footwell/Electrical Malfunctions

Water Entry Into Footwell / Possible Malfunction of Electrical System

If you encounter instances in Model 211 vehicles up to VIN A065000 of malfunctions in the electrical system, this may be caused by water penetrating
the windshield cover and running towards the air conditioning expansion valve. Water may enter the vehicle through the entry point of the air
conditioning line. To resolve, please perform the following procedure for attaching a cover over the expansion valve.

1.

Remove wiper arms. Refer to WIS document no. AR82.30-P-6100T.

2.

Remove water collector. Refer to WIS document no. AR83.25-P-1402T.

3.

Remove wiper linkage. Refer to WIS document no. AR82.30-P-6400.

4.

Attach cover over expansion valve. The bonding surfaces should be clean. Bond the cover as shown in Figure 1. In the process, ensure that the
water can drain outwards and cannot get into the interior via the point of entry of the air conditioning lines. If necessary, perform a rain test.

5.

Perform steps 1 through 3 in reverse sequence.
