Clean prepared areas (silicone remover).

5.

Paint tailgate underneath window (observe work instructions from the relevant paint supplier).

6.

Apply wax preservation agent on inside of tailgate in area of tailgate release handle opening.

7.

Install remaining parts on tailgate.

Condition / Remedy 4: 

Paint blistering on the tailgate (Figure 4).

Check tailgate for other areas of damage.

2.

Sand blistered area down to bare steel in damaged area.

3.

Paint tailgate underneath window (observe work instructions from the relevant paint supplier).

Condition / Remedy 5: 

Paint blistering on the tailgate due to incorrect pretreatment of body panels. (Figure 5). To resolve, completely strip the blistered area and refinish per the
paint manufacturers instructions.
