FLEXIBLE SERVICE SYSTEM PLUS (FSS +) MAINTENANCE INTERVALS DO NOT
CORRESPOND TO MBUSA CRITERIA, AS DISPLAYED IN THE INSTRUMENT
CLUSTER
In certain Model 211 vehicles, the Flexible Service System Plus (FSS +) maintenance intervals may not display the MBUSA service criteria, when
bringing up the service job menu (Figure 1), using the multifunction keys located on the steering wheel.
The specific affected vehicles are noted ("flagged") in VMI.
Please perform this Service Campaign the next time the affected vehicle is in the workshop for service. Please check VMI before performing this Service
Campaign.
Please perform the "Flashing" of the instrument cluster.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER "FLASHING" PROCEDURE
1.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please review the entire document.
2.
Connect the affected vehicle to the Star Diagnosis System (SDS).
NOTE:
The SDS must be patched for FSS+.
3.
Start the diagnosis session.
4.
Select Model 211, then select "Control Units".
5.
Next select "Communication & Information".
6.
Select "ASSYST PLUS" (also known as FSS +).
7.
Select "Control Unit Adaptations".
