Component Identification

Turn-in steering and check for correct seating of puller (01) on tie rod.

If the seat is incorrect the stainless steel ring of the tie rod will be damaged and thus the tie rod will be destroyed.

Pushing off

Unscrew self-locking nut from tie rod joint (5).

Mount pull-off tools (01, 02, 03) on steering knuckle (7) and tie rod ball joint (5).
Use puller (221 589 05 33 00) for model 204, 207, 212 to pry off the tie rod ball joint (5) with stainless-steel ring.
Use puller (221 589 00 33 00) for model 204, 212 to pry off the tie rod ball joint (5) without stainless-steel ring.
