Oil Filter Housing: Service and Repair
Removal/Installation:
NOTE: Each step applies to both, models 124 and 210, unless stated otherwise in the specific step.

Disconnect ground cable at battery, connect.

Model 124: remove intake air hose on right (17).

Model 210: remove air cleaner housing.

Unscrew bolt (1) of oil filter cap.
Tighten to: 20 Nm.

Remove oil filter cap (3) together with bolt (1), so that engine oil in oil filter (6) flows off into sump.

Replace seal (4).
-
Disconnect electric wiring at generator.

Model 124: unplug plug connection of oil pressure sensor (135).
-
Model 124: unbolt oil pressure sensor (B5) with connection cable (15).
Tighten to: 25 Nm.

Model 124: replace seals (14) according to condition.
-
If air-oil cooling fitted: unbolt oil pipes (7) and (8) of air-oil cooler at oil filter (5).
Tighten to: 7 Nm.

Replace seals (9).
-
Unbolt oil filter housing (5) at crankcase.
Installation Note: Install bolt (10) with bracket (2) for generator wiring harness.

Remove oil filter housing (5) downward.
-
Clean sealing surfaces.

Replace gasket (5a).
-
Install in reverse sequence, observing tightening specifications and the installation note.

Check, adjust engine oil level to correct level.
-
Run engine and check for leaks.
