Antitheft Lighting Relay: Description and Operation

The status of the infrared remote control is confirmed by the turn signals as well as by the receiver in the inside rearview mirror. The IR DAS control
module sends a ground signal to the combination relay or lock confirmation relay.

Lock confirmation

IR DAS control module (N54/1) -> lock confirmation relay (K45) -> turn signals

Locking vehicle

Turn signals flash 3 times at a flashing frequency of 1.5 Hz.

Unlocking vehicle

Turn signals flash once

NOTE:  Confirmation via the turn signals can be programmed out at customer request using the version coding with the hand-held tester.

When the vehicle is locked or unlocked manually with the lock cylinder in the driver's door or trunk lid the unlocking or locking procedure is also
activated. The turn signals are not actuated.
