GPS antenna (A2/49a2)

Code 351 or 353

CTEL antenna (A2/49a1)

The CTEL antenna (A2/49a1) is required for the navigation system only in vehicles with auto-pilot system (APS, code 351) or Audio 30 APS (code 353)
in combination with dynamic guidance (code 815).

The information received on the traffic situation (Traffic Center Service (TCS) data) is transferred to the telephone receiver via the coaxial antenna cable

GPS antenna (A2/49a2)

The integrated antenna amplifier is supplied with power via the coaxial antenna cable (phantom supply). The satellite signals received are amplified by
the antenna amplifier and then also transferred to the GPS receiver via the coaxial antenna cable.

Der GPS receiver is:

integrated into the APS navigation processor (A2/30) on vehicles with APS (code 351) or

-

integrated into the radio and navigation unit (A2/56) on vehicles with Audio 30 APS (code 353).

The GPS antenna (A2/49a2) serves only for receiving GPS signals; no signals are transmitted.

Code 347, 348 or 352

GPS antenna (A2/49a2)

The satellite signals received are amplified by the antenna amplifier integrated into the GPS antenna (A2/49a2). This amplifier is supplied with power via
the coaxial antenna cable (phantom supply). The amplified signals are then transferred via the same coaxial antenna cable to the GPS control module
integrated into the

-

TELE AID control module (A35/8) on vehicles with code 347 or 348,

-

the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) on vehicles with code 352

If the vehicle is equipped with TELE AID and COMAND, the coaxial antenna cable leads from the GPS antenna (A2/49a2) to the antenna splitter
(A2/5). The control modules (A35/8) and (A40/3) are then connected to the two coaxial outputs of the antenna splitter.

The GPS antenna serves only for reception of GPS signals (no signals are transmitted).

CTEL antenna (A2/49a1)

The signals received by the A2/49a1 antenna are transferred via a separate coaxial antenna cable to:

-

the TELE AID control module (A35/8) on vehicles with code 347 or 348,

-

or otherwise directly to the CTEL transmitter/receiver (A35) or cellular telephone

Transmission is accomplished in the opposite direction.

NOTE:  The GPS reception frequencies are in the GHz range, the telephone transmission and reception frequencies in the upper MHz range. Each 
antenna is connected to the corresponding receiver via a separate coaxial cable.
