Voltage Regulator: Service and Repair

Remove/install Regulator Of Generator

DANGER:
-

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injure through
burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

-

Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately
marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery 

2.1 Remove bottom section of soundproofing capsule
2.2 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling

Connect multiplug at regulator

Remove cap at connection circuit 30 and unscrew nut M8 from connection, place positive lead to the side

Unscrew bolts M8 from supporting strut at alternator (G2) and at engine block

Dismount cover (1), for this step unscrew collar nut (2) and nut (3) and unscrew bolt of cover (4)

Unscrew bolts of regulator (6) at governor (5)

Remove regulator (5) towards the side

NOTE:  Installation: Do not damage carbon brushes

Install in the reverse order
