Repair Materials

Grounding

Connect locking rings for a brief period (conductive) with the vehicle body or ground.
Grounding the components prevents any electrostatic discharge (ESD). ESD causes escaping fuel/air mixtures to explode.

Open locking ring

Unlock fuel pump harness electrical connector (X36/3) and fuel tank electrical connector (X25/4), detach and set aside.

Vehicles with gasoline engine except engine 156:
Release and detach electrical connector from fuel pressure sensor (B4/7) and then set aside.
