Trunk Lid Springs Back When Opened
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding the trunk lid springing back down when opened, check for wear on the face
surface of the trunk lid hinge stop slightly.
1.
Remove rear hat shelf. For base vehicle, refer to WIS document no. AR68.00-P-4580T; with code 287a (through loading) and without code 540a
(rear sunshade), refer to WIS document no. AR68.00-P-4580TA; with code 540a (rear sunshade) and without 287a (through loading), refer to WIS
document no. AR68.00-P-4580TB and with code 287a (through loading) and with code 287a (through loading), refer to WIS document no.
AR68.00-P-4580TC.
2.
Remove left and right moldings in trunk. For base vehicle, refer to WIS document no. AR68.30-P-4800T and for vehicles with code 287a (through
loading), refer to WIS document no. AR68.30-P-4800TA.

Remove left and right insulation mats (Figures 1 and 2, 3) from under the rear shelf and place to the side.
4.
Remove nuts (Figures 1 and 2, 5) from left and right stop (Figures 1 and 2, 4).
5.
Remove/install/replace left and right stops (Figures 1 and 2, 4). When installing stops, the lettering must be on the top and the slanted surface is
underneath.
6.
Install components in the reverse order.
