Procedure

A.

INSPECT ROUTING OF POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE HOSE / INSPECT LOW TEMPERATURE COOLANT LINE FOR
DAMAGE

1.

Check distance (X, Figure 1) between power steering high pressure hose (A) and pump pulley (B).

Distance (X) should be at least 7 mm.

2.

Perform one of the following, depending on results of previous step:

If distance is 7 mm or greater: proceed to next step.

If distance is smaller than 7 mm: proceed to SUBJECT B.

3.

Raise vehicle on lift, referring to WIS document AR00.60-P-1000V, and remove both bottom front engine compartment panels.

4.

Inspect low temperature coolant line (A, Figure 2) for damage due to chafing on power steering hose (B).

If evidence of damage is found: proceed to SUBJECT C.

If no evidence of damage is found: assemble in reverse order; this campaign has been completed.

1.

Remove fluid from power steering pump reservoir.
