Accessory Control Display: Removal and Replacement

AR82.85-P-1000T Remove/Install Comand Operating, Display and Control Module

- with CODE (526) COMAND (without navigation)
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS (with navigation)
- with CODE (512) COMAND APS with DVD changer
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Remove ashtray housing (1) from front center console

Unclip fiber optical cable (2) from bracket (3) towards the front

Unclip electrical connector (4) from bracket (3)

NOTE:  Number of electrical connectors (4) depends on configuration

Unscrew bolts (5)

Pull kinematics stowage compartment (6) out of center console until bolts (7) are accessible, and put to one side

Unscrew bolts (7) counterclockwise as far as possible

Pull COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) out of the center console until the fiber optical cable connector and the electrical
plug socket at the rear of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) are accessible

Disconnect fiber optical cable connector and the electrical plug socket at the rear of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3)
and remove COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3)

Cover fiber optical cable

Install in the reverse order
