Level Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair

AR32.31-P-0650T Remove/Install Level Control Valve Unit

- with CODE (489) AIRmatic (semi-active air suspension)

CAUTION:  See special information on AIRmatic

Empty AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS

2.1 Remove bottom section of noise encapsulation at front
2.2 Remove front section of engine compartment paneling

Disconnect plug on AIRmatic pressure sensor (B7)

Unplug valve unit connector (Y36/6x1)

Disconnect pressure line connections (VL, VR, HA, SP, P)

CAUTION:  Observe assignment of pressure lines!

NOTE:  Seal off pressure lines with blind plugs for the duration of the repair work.

If pressure line connections or pressure lines are damaged, repair AIRmatic pressure line connection.

Unscrew bolts (arrows) and remove level control valve unit (Y36/6)

Install in the reverse order

Fill AIRmatic system using STAR DIAGNOSIS

CAUTION:  While filling the wheels should have no contact with the ground, as when filling in the compressed condition the air spring
bellows in the spring element is destroyed.

NOTE:  Fill to 5 bar.

Check AIRmatic for leaks.
