Brake Hold Function Cannot Be Activated

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles with all the following symptoms, this may be due to a LIN communication error between the
battery sensor and the rear SAM.

1.

When a customer attempts to activate the brake "Hold" function, message Hold Cannot Be Activated! See Operator's Manual" is shown in the
multifunction display of the instrument cluster.

2.

Fault code 9062 or 9092, "Communication error with component: battery sensor", is current or stored in the rear SAM control unit.

3.

The actual values for the voltage and current of the battery sensor cannot be displayed by Star Diagnosis.

Note:

The brake "Hold" function cannot be activated because the rear SAM is missing battery sensor data.

To resolve, disconnect and reconnect the connector on the battery sensor then perform a function check for the "Hold" function. Check whether all
the actual values of the battery sensor are displayed in Star Diagnosis.

Note: 

To avoid malfunctions in the battery sensor, always unplug the connector at the battery sensor when disconnecting and reconnecting the
negative terminal clamp (ground cable). Please refer to procedure outlined in WIS document AR54.10-P-0003T, "Disconnect/connect ground
line of battery".
