Cut the following wires of the SCM connector 60 mm from the terminal ends; 

Four 0.50 sq. wires connected to Airbag pins 3, 4, 5, 6.

Four 0.22 sq. CAN pins connected to 10, 11, 12, 13.

Two 0.75 sq. wires connected to Circuit 30 and 31 pins 8 and 9.

If present, do not disconnect or cut the brown and red/yellow wires at terminal 1 and 2 for the steering wheel heater.

There are two different size repair wires A001 540 87 05 is 0.50 sq. and A001 540 88 05 is 0.75 sq.

Cut the repair wire 75 mm from each terminal end. One repair wire makes two pigtails. Use repair wire A001 540 87 05 for terminals 3 to 6, and
10 to 13. Use repair wire A001 540 88 05 for terminals 8 and 9.

Strip approximately 15 mm of insulation from the repair wires and the SCM harness wires. Twist the 15 mm stripped ends of the repair wires and
the SCM harness wires.

Using solder connector (A002 546 13 41) solder the repair wires (A001 540 87 05) onto the four Airbag wires, pins 3, 4, 5, 6 and the four CAN
wires pins, 10, 11 12, 13 in accordance with the specified repair method in WIS document AR00.19-P-0100A.

Using solder connector (A002 546 13 41) solder the repair wires (A001 540 88 05) onto the two wires for circuits 30 and 31 (pins 8 and 9) in
accordance with the specified repair method in WIS document AR00.19-P-0100A.

Remove the lock on the SCM socket connector (Figure 3). Depress the lock tab on the terminal and remove one cut wire terminal at a time. Install
the appropriate repaired wire into the correct position in the socket connector.

Note:

Ensure during the reassembly of the SCM connector that all terminals are reinstalled in their correct positions. Continue the twist for CAN
wires connecting to pins 10, 11, 12, and 13. Reference WEB ETM document PE46.10-U-2101GB to confirm pin locations and wire colors.
