General

The digital TV tuner (A90/3) makes it possible to receive digital television channels in the vehicle and view them on the display on the COMAND
operating, display and controller unit.
Digital TV signals are received over the antenna structure already present.

However it should be noted that the TV digital tuner separates the video and audio signals from each other. The TV mode is therefore comprised as
follows:

Supplemental information

The TV picture is switched off as from a speed of 5 km/h. When the vehicle is moving on, audio playback remains active and - for safety reasons - a
warning is shown on the display on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.

Operating instructions

The TV functions in the TV menu item can be selected, activated and set with the following components:

Control buttons on the COMAND operating, display and controller unit

Left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111)

Function sequence, TV signal reception

The antenna signals for TV reception are received by the following antennas and routed via direct lines and the corresponding amplifier to the TV digital
tuner:

TV antenna 1 in the right rear side window
-

Right antenna amplifier module (A2/65)

Antenna TV 2 in rear window
-

Rear window TV antenna amplifier (A2/92)

Antenna TV 3 in rear window
-

TV rear window antenna amplifier

TV antenna 4 in the left rear side window

Left antenna amplifier module (A2/64)

Function sequence, video signal

After the antenna signals for TV reception have been processed in the TV digital tuner, the video signals are output as follows:

Direct Y/C line

COMAND operating, display and controller unit

Function sequence, audio signal

After the antenna signals for TV reception have been processed in the TV digital tuner, the audio signals are relayed via the Media Oriented System
Transport (MOST) to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit.

On vehicles with code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are forwarded from the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via MOST to the 
amplifier for sound system (N40/3) and from there, via direct lines, to the following speakers:
