Exhaust Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
GF07.04-P-6111GZ Component Description For the Temperature Sensor on Diesel Particulate Filter
GF07.04-P-6111GZ Component Description For The Temperature Sensor On Diesel Particulate Filter
-
with CODE (474) Particulate filter
Location
The temperature sensor upstream of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) is located on the underfloor.
Task
The temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter detects the current exhaust gas temperature downstream of the oxidation catalytic converter
(before the DPF).
Design
The temperature sensor upstream of the diesel particulate filter consists of a metal case with a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistor and a
2-pin plug connection.
Function
The install NTC resistor alters its electrical resistance according to the exhaust gas temperature and transmits a corresponding voltage signal to the CDI
control unit (N3/9). NTC means that the electrical resistance decreases as temperature increases.
