Two steering dampers are integrated in the screw fittings. The task of the integrated steering dampers is to cushion the forces and shocks transmitted
from the road surface via the steering linkage.
Pressurized steering damper (I)
Through 4 bores in the perforated disk (5b) the high-pressure oil is lead non-derated at the non-return plate (5a) against the force of the non-return
spring (5c) to one of the working cylinders.
Dampened return pressure (II)
The oil flowing out of the opposite working cylinder is forced into the perforated disk via 4 further bores. This pushes up the disk spring (5d) and
pumps the oil into the return line. This restricted pressure provides the required damping effect.
