Component Identification

Function requirements

The rain/light sensor sends the "Night" signal

Door contact ON and OFF switch in "ON" position.

Function

Opening one of the doors is recognized by the rear SAM control unit by way of the corresponding central locking motor (ZV) and notified to the
overhead control panel control unit via CAN-B.

Footwell lighting

After the overhead control panel control unit has received a signal about an open door from the rear SAM control unit, the overhead control panel
control unit sends the switch-on signal for the footwell illumination to the front SAM control unit.
The footwell illumination on-period is as follows:

5 min as long as one of the doors is open

^

30 s after unlocking the vehicle

^

8 s after closing the last door

All four footwell lamps are switched each time.
