Message "Low Range - Service Required" with Fault Code 2950 Stored in Transfer Case Control Module
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a warning message "Low Range - Service Required", this may be caused by the
incorrect installation of the circlip on the actuator shaft (Figure 1).
To resolve, perform the following.
1.
Remove the transfer case actuator motor (M46/2). Refer to WIS document AR28.19-P-1004GZ.
Note:
To prevent damage to the drive shafts, it is essential to disconnect the drive shafts from the transfer case. Pay special attention to the tightening
specifications to avoid noises and vibrations when traveling at high speeds. Refer to WIS document AR41.10-P-0050GZ.
2.
Remove the old circlip from the actuator shaft and replace with a new circlip. Be sure to install the circlip correctly onto the groove of the actuator
shaft (Figure 2).
3.
Install the transfer case actuator motor (M46/2). Refer to WIS document AR28.19-P-1004GZ.
4.
Erase fault memory stored in the transfer case control module (N15/7).
