A voice connection to the service center is established after sending the SMS, regardless of the type of emergency call, and the user can speak to the
service receptionist.

With the "Tracking" service, it is possible to complete a voice connection between the service center and the vehicle. Only a two-way radio connection is
completed to the vehicle for the "Remot door unlock" service.

The emergency call service, as well as all other services, are offered by the Mercedes-Benz customer support, free of cost.

The hands-free system microphone group (A67b1) is used for voice input. This can be connected directly to the emergency call system control unit or
over the UPCI (Universal Portable CTEL Interface) control unit (N123/1). Voice output is performed exclusively over the cockpit center speaker
(centerfill) (H4/27).
The speakers are actuated discreetly by the emergency call system control unit. Normally, the telephone connection is accomplished using the TELE AID
antenna (A2/93a4 ), located in the roof antenna module (A2/93) . In the event the TELE AID antenna is defective, e.g. following a rollover, the
emergency call system control unit recognizes antenna failure and then automatically actuates the TELE AID backup antenna (A2/50).
