With ignition ON, measure circuit 30 at the input of the no-load current switch between pin 21 and 22, refer to Figure 1 (prefuse box where the
measurements should be taken from). The measured voltage should correspond to the battery voltage.

Connect a load resistor to the battery, this will cause the no-load switch to open at voltage of 11.8 or lower.

3.

Check the battery voltage, check circuit 30g at the output of the fuse box (Figure 1, pin 30/32) there should be 0 volts.

Switch ignition OFF: Place a load on a battery until the measure voltage is under 11.8 Volts, the no-load switch should now be actuated and open.

Prefuse Box and Signal Line Measurements: If the no-load current switch was opened by the rear SAM, the actuation of the no-load current switch can
also be checked as follows.

1.

Ignition ON, the no-load switch should be an audible switching "click".

2.

If you can hear the switching click at the same time there is NO voltage across the output of the no-load current pins (30g voltage = Battery
Voltage), replace the pre-fuse box

3.

If no switching click is heard, continue with the signal line diagnostics and measurements as guided by DAS.

4.

If all signal line diagnostics are OK, replace the rear SAM.

Prefuse Box Replacement: Since the fault cannot always be traced, even after actuation, prefuse box and signal line measurements, the pre-fuse box may
be replaced only when the following faults/events are stored in the DTC memory of the rear SAM:

B219116: The power supply of circuit 30g is outside the valid range. The limit value for electrical voltage has not been attained.

B219600: The power supply of circuit 30g is less than 7.5 V.

B219700: The power supply of circuit 30g is less than 8.5 V.
