Reason for block

Complaint:

ESP lamp on.

Cause:

Contact fault at connection for ESP control unit MK25 (N47-5).

The transition resistence may be increased because of an oxidation layer on the contact connectors in the plug connection to the ESP control unit.

Remedy:

Do not replace the ESP control unit.

1. Repair the connection of the wiring harness at the ESP control unit MK25 (SM42.45-P-0001GH "Repair wiring harness coupling at ESP control unit")

2. If fault codes are ACTIVE, perform the diagnostic test on the brake pressure sensor (B34/2) and brake booster piston position sensor (A7/7b1) using
Star Diagnosis.

3. If faults in the brake pressure sensor are found, replace the brake pressure sensor (AR42.45-P-081GH).

4. If faults in the brake booster piston position sensor are found, replace the brake booster piston position sensor (AR42.31-P-6002GI).
