MODIFIED PROCEDURE FOR SECURING ETC MODULE HARNESS AND/OR PASSENGER HARNESS TO ETC MOUNTING BRACKET
1.
Remove the left under dash panel. (See WIS: AR68.10-P-15000H, removing and installing cover below instrument panel [left])
2.
If present, remove and discard the metal clip securing the electronic transmission control (ETC) module wiring harness and passenger wiring
harness to the bottom of the ETC mounting bracket.
Note:
If present, the clip is located at the ETC mounting bracket slot where cable tie (1) will be installed.
3.
With cable tie (1), secure the ETC module wiring harness and passenger wiring harness to the slot in the ETC mounting bracket.
Note:
The two harnesses must be positioned side by side on the bottom of the ETC mounting bracket with the passenger harness routed to the side
closest to the HVAC case. Ensure that sufficient clearance exists between the passenger harness and HVAC linkage to allow proper operation
while rotating the air distribution rotary switch one full turn.
4.
Eliminate slack between cable tie (1) and previously existing cable tie (2), by pulling the harnesses in the direction of the engine compartment
bulkhead.
