Removing And Installing Ignition Switch Control Cable

Disconnect ground cable of battery

Remove center console

Remove cover below instrument panel (left)

Press locking tabs (1a) together and detach ignition switch control cable (1) from ignition/starter switch (S2/1)

NOTE:  Installation:  move ignition switch to position "0".

Function test:
-

It must only be possible to move the selector lever out of position "P" when the ignition switch is in position "2" and the brake pedal is
depressed.

-

It must only be possible to withdraw the ignition key when the selector lever is in position "P".

Release ignition switch control cable (1) at electronic selector lever control module (N15/5).

NOTE:  Press locking tab (1b), twist coupling (1c) through 90 degrees in direction of arrow and pull off ignition switch control cable (1).

Remove ignition switch control cable (1) from instrument panel.

NOTE:  Unclip ignition switch control cable (1) from clip (2).

Install in the reverse order.
