Brake Fluid: Service and Repair
Replace Brake Fluid
Danger:

Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid.

Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling
brake fluid.

Note fluid level of brake fluid reservoir (10).

Unscrew cap (11).

Empty chambers in brake fluid reservoir down to a fluid level of approx. 10 mm.
NOTE: Do not empty reservoir completely.
Replace brake fluid with filler and bleeder unit.

Connect filler and bleeder unit according to manufacturer's instructions.

Allow approx. 80 cm3 of brake fluid to flow out at each wheel brake
NOTE: Clear brake fluid must flow out of bleed hose free of bubbles
Replace brake fluid without filler and bleeder unit

Without filler and bleeder unit: Fill expansion reservoir (10) up to marking "MAX." with brake fluid

Pump out the old brake fluid with 10 pump strokes at each wheel brake
NOTE: Fill reservoir with new brake fluid. Clear brake fluid free of bubbles must flow out of the bleed hose. Do not empty reservoir completely.

If emptying the reservoir completely:

Bleed brake system

Disconnect filler and bleeder unit.

Correct fluid level in brake fluid reservoir.
NOTE:

Note fluid level of brake fluid reservoir.

This level must be maintained.

Fill reservoir with new brake fluid

Screw on cap (11).
