MODEL 163.172 (ENGINE 113.942)
MODIFY ENGINE TRIM COVER FOR INCREASED UPPER RADIATOR HOSE CLEARANCE

Due to thermal expansion of the engine cover, it may be possible for the engine cover to come in contact with the upper radiator hose. This contact may
also occur if the engine cover has been improperly reinstalled after maintenance. Subsequent chafing (arrow, Figure 1) could eventually result in a loss of
coolant due to a damaged upper radiator hose.

As a preventative measure, please modify the engine cover during the next scheduled maintenance or service of the vehicle.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously
repaired.
