Oil Cooler: Service and Repair
Remove/Install Oil-Water Heat Exchanger At Oil Filter
Shown On Engine 112 Without Air Pump

Remove engine trim panel or air cleaner
NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.

Remove viscous fan (1)
NOTE: Right-hand thread!

Remove fan shroud (2).
NOTE: On model 163 unscrew bolts at bottom of fan shroud.

Remove oil pipes at oil-water heat exchange
NOTE: Only model 463.243/246.

Unscrew oil filter housing cover (3)
DANGER:

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour
coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Drain coolant at radiator
NOTE: Model 163: For draining coolant remove bottom coolant line from radiator or coolant pump.

Remove coolant line (4, 5) from oil-water heat exchanger (6)

Remove air pump
NOTE: Only for engines with air pump.

Detach oil-water heat exchanger (6) from oil filter housing
CAUTION: Installation: Install new sealing rings (7).
