Gear Identification Switch (Models Without Touch Shift)

Position 

The gear identification switch (S16/10) is located in the floor selector.

Task 

To transfer the position of the selector lever to the ETC control module (N15/3).

Design 

The gear identification switch (S16/10) consists of the shift range contacts for all gears, the reverse lamp switch (S16/10s1) as well as 10 LEDs (70)
for the background illumination and the individual position display. 

Function 

The selector lever positions are transferred to the gear identification switch (S16/10) by a plug pin, which is connected to the shift shaft, and processed
into a position signal. This signal is passed to the ETC control module (N15/3).
