Turn ignition key to position "1"

Remove cover on driver's side below instrument panel.

Remove cover on right next to steering column

Uncouple shift lock cable

NOTE:  Press together retaining tugs (Figure 1, A) at the top and push upwards.

Remove stop lamp switch at brake pedal

Press and hold down adjusting knob (Figure 2, A) at bottom end of shift lock cable. At the same time push the cable towards the adjuster.
