The digital components of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) are interlinked with one another via the digital data bus D2B)

Data (control commands and other information) is transmitted between the various system components via the digital data bus. Since some of the
individual components operate with various data formats or place different requirements on the transmission speed and transmission security, various bus
systems are installed:

Data is transferred between the CD player with changer (in trunk) (A2/6) and the telephone system via the digital data bus ( D2B).

Both control data as well as the actual audio signals (music from the CD changer, voice when phoning) are transmitted.
