Radial Play in Steering Column / BAS/ESP Light On

If you receive customer reports in the above models vehicles of rattling / knocking noises from the steering column / lock or the BAS/ESP light being on,
please perform the following steps to resolve. This may be caused by loss of tension in the disc spring resulting in inconsistent clearance between the
rotor and stator of the steering angle sensor (N49).

1.

Read out fault codes.

2.

If fault code C11xx is present, proceed to step 3.

3.

Replace rotor for steering angle sensor (N49) as described in WIS document AR-46.10-P-0350GH.

4.

Erase all fault codes.
