Component Identification
The driver can see the distance to the obstacle using the virtual distance lines (not pictured) running parallel to the vehicle displayed on the COMAND
operating, display and controller unit (plus s = 0.35 m distance).
The driver stops the vehicle when this distance line in the display virtually touches the obstacle and the parking position has then been reached.

Reversing camera, general
The reversing camera system assists the driver when reverse parking and when backing up.
Reversing camera function sequence
The signal "Reverse gear engaged" is transmitted to the engine compartment CAN by the intelligent servo module for DIRECT SELECT (A80).
This signal is routed to the interior CAN by the central gateway control unit (N93).
The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) then activates the reversing camera power supply module (N66/10), which supplies power to the reversing camera
(B84/3).
The camera images recorded by the reversing camera are transferred to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via the reversing camera
power supply module as a CVBS signal (Composite Video Baseband Signal) and displayed.
On vehicles with code (863) TV tuner digital/analog, the recorded camera images are transferred by the reversing camera power supply module to the
COMAND operating, display and controller unit via the TV combination tuner (analog/digital) (A90/1).
