Remove/Install

Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from brake fluid coming into contact with skin and eyes.

Pour brake fluid only into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling
brake fluid.

Remove stepped tandem master brake cylinder (1)

Check master brake cylinder for leaks at rear of primary piston. If leaks present, replace brake master cylinder.

Unscrew nuts (4) of position sensor bracket on splash wall
NOTE: Pull out hoses (21) from bracket and unclip bracket from splash wall Disconnect connector and swing to one side

Disconnect connector for BAS diaphragm travel sensor (A7/7b1)
4.1 Unscrew nut (17) on left front engine mount
NOTE: Model 163.113/128.
5.1 Lift up engine on its left side
NOTE: Model 163.113/128.
6.1 Remove vacuum pump control module
NOTE: Model 163.113 up to VIN 093126.
7.1 Put brake lines (18) to one side
NOTE: Model 163.113/128.

Unscrew plastic locking nut (19) on splash wall
NOTE: Risk of plastic locking clips (20) cracking and fracturing.

Disconnect connector of release switch (27)
