Alternator Pulley: Service and Repair

Remove/Install Generator Belt Pulley

Remove generator

Unscrew collar nut (1)

NOTE:  To hold generator shaft (2), insert screwdriver bit through double hexagon wrench (4).

Shorten double hexagon wrench for removal of belt pulley
-

Collar nut to poly V-belt pulley = 80 Nm

Remove ribbed V-belt pulley (3)

NOTE:  when replacing alternators after mileages in excess of 100.000 km, at the same time also replace the poly V-belt pulley (3).

Install in the reverse order
