are processed centrally by these two modules. In the event of an emergency call, the emergency call telegram is generated in the form of an SMS with the
aid of the built-in navigation module.
The crash data are received from the restraint systems control unit via a serial interface as well as redundantly over the Controller Area Network bus,
class D (diagnosis).
The emergency call system control unit is capable of diagnosis over a diagnosis bus through the central gateway control unit (N93) with STAR
DIAGNOSIS.
