INSTALL SUPPORT FOR INTAKE MANIFOLD SWITCHOVER FLAP (M156 ENGINE)
This Service Campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on affected vehicles premature wear at the bearings of the variable length
intake manifold switchover flap may lead to unmetered air intake. This could lead to an irregular running engine and the OBD lamp may also illuminate.
Dealers will install an intake manifold switchover flap support as a precautionary measure.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:
^
Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired. If necessary, repair the subject
vehicle during the vehicle's next service.
^
Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the procedure steps exactly as described.
Please note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.
Approximately 2,727 vehicles are affected.
Procedure
1.
Remove front engine cover.
2.
Install support for intake manifold switchover flap (A, Figure 1).
^
