Whistling Sound from Engine Compartment

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of a whistling sound from the engine compartment (in the area of the firewall/bulkhead), the
cause may be a malfunctioning diaphragm in the pressure regulating valve. To resolve, replace the pressure regulating valve.

Note:

The sound can also be heard for up to several seconds after the engine is switched off. The sound goes away when the engine dipstick is removed (only
remove the dipstick for a short time to check).
