Component Identification

Function requirements:

When circuit 15R is active, the functions of the COMAND, operating, display and controller unit are available. If circuit 15R is not active, the MOST
subscribers can be activated by switching on the COMAND, operating, display and controller unit. In this case, control using the multifunction steering
wheel is not possible.

Radio reception

2 radio tuners are integrated into the COMAND operating, display and controller unit, which can be controlled via the controller unit. Operation via the
interface is generated by the COMAND operating, display and controller unit and shown on the display. The audio signals are prepared and amplified by
the COMAND operating, display and controller unit before being sent to the vehicle speakers.

On vehicles with code (810) Sound system, the audio signals are routed to the amplifier for sound system where they are amplified and output over the
vehicle speakers.

Playing audio CDs

The single-slot disk drive above the display of the COMAND operating, display and controller unit and the CD changer can play CD audio media (in
Red Book audio format). Both disk drives process text information that is stored on a CD. Located below the display is the button for ejecting the CD
("Disc Eject"). An external analog audio source can be connected to the COMAND operating, display and controller unit via the AUX jack in the glove
box. Data exchange via a discrete line.

Audio signal control

The COMAND operating, display and controller unit manages the audio components, such as CD changer and amplifier for sound system. These audio
components can be controlled via MOST.
