Squeaking or Rubbing Noise from Left Rear of Vehicle
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that there is a squeaking or rubbing noise coming from the left rear of the vehicle, the
left fender well liner may be rubbing on the rear shock absorber (Figure 1 arrow). A limited number of fender well liners were manufactured out of
the normal tolerance band. To resolve, perform the following.
1.
Remove the left rear wheel per WIS document AP40.10-P-4050RT.
2.
With a utility knife or scissors carefully trim approximately 5 mm of the lip off the fender well liner (Figure 1, dashed line) in the area of contact
with the rear shock absorber.
3.
Check for sufficient clearance, it should not be necessary to trim additional material from the fender well liner.
4.
Reinstall left rear wheel per WIS document AP40.10-P-4050RT.
