Risk of explosion from pressurized spray cans

Risk of explosion poisoning and caused by solvent vapors and gasses. Injury hazard to skin and eyes when working on corrosion
protection agents.

Protect cans from direct sunlight and temperatures above 50 °C.

Never spray anticorrosion agents on flames or glowing hot objects and keep them well away from all potential sources of ignition. Use them only in
well-ventilated rooms; wear respiratory protection.

Repair Materials

1. Unscrew nut (1) on the front bottom side of the outer longitudinal member.
2. Position the front mud guard (2) in the correct installation position on the fender and mark the center point of the through-hole (3).
3. Remove the front mud guard (2) and rework through-hole to 5.5 mm at the marking in the fender liner.
4. Clean the installation area of the of the front mud guard (2) in the area of the fender and outer longitudinal member.
5. Protect inner edge of front fender in the area of the clamps (6) on the front mud flap (2) against corrosion with wax preservative from the inside.
6. Detach protective foil (4) over a length of 10 mm at the end of the inside adhesive surface of the front mud guard (2).
7. Install front mud guard (2) with expansion rivet (5) and clamps (6).

The claws of the clamps (6) should be directed towards the front mud guard (2) and under no circumstances be directed towards the fender

8. Pull the protective foil (4) off the adhesive surface and press on the front mud guard (2) firmly.

It is not possible to align the front mud guard (2) again after sticking on.

9. Screw the nut (1) onto the front bottom side of the longitudinal member.

10. Protect inner edge of front fender in the area of the clamps (6) on the front mud flap (2) against corrosion with wax preservative from the inside.
