Component Identification

Read in the functions

The signals of the following buttons

scroll forward/back button,

^

system selection button,

^

buttons + and - for setting specific functions and volume control and

^

Accept/terminate phone call button

are read in via the LIN (local interconnect network) by the steering column module.

The steering column module places the button signals for further processing on the Controller Area Network bus class C (engine compartment) and via
the central gateway control unit on the Controller Area Network bus class B (interior) to be forwarded to the corresponding control units.
