Humidity Sensor: Description and Operation
GF83.30-P-2129RT Dew Point Sensor, Component Description
- with CODE (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning
Component Identification
Location
The dew point sensor is located down at the front of the automatic air conditioning box.
Task
The dew point sensor is used to detect the air humidity of the drawn in outside air and thus to better control the evaporator temperature. When the
outside air is humid, the evaporator temperature is regulated to a lower setting than when the outside air is dry to improve the dehumidification output.
Thus, the interior climate is perceived as more pleasant. Because the power consumption is lower when the air is dry, fuel consumption is reduced as
well.
Design
The dew point sensor comprises the following elements:
^
Measuring cell for humidity
^
Electrical connector
^
Electronic printed circuit board with processor
Function
The dew point sensor measures the air humidity of the suctioned air and forwards this measured value to the comfort AAC [KLA] control and operating
unit (N22/7), thereby allowing it to regulate a demand-based, not too dry interior climate. The calculated measured value is additionally placed by the
comfort AAC control and operating unit on the CAN interior. The left front door control unit (N69/1) and the right front door control unit (N69/2) read
in this value to obtain the most favorably adjusted heated outside mirror.
