Component Identification

Location

The sun sensor is located behind the instrument cluster (A1) in the instrument panel.

Task

The sun sensor measures the intensity of the sun radiation acting on the vehicle. The interior temperature and blower speed are adapted according to the
intensity.

The reading is read in directly by the AAC control and operating unit (N22).
Among other items, evaluation of the sun sensor depends on whether an infrared insulating windshield is installed.In this case, the values read in are
evaluated at a rate of only 66 % for control.
