Climate System Temperature Setting Not Possible / Temperature LED Indicator Does Not Change When Turning Temperature Selector Wheel / LEDs
Flashing

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of difficulty setting the climate system temperature, the red LED indicator not moving when
the temperature selector wheel is adjusted or the LEDs flashing, the control module for the climate system needs updated software or the coding needs to
be changed. Replacement of the climate control module is not required.

Condition 1: 

Adjustment of the climate system temperature setting not possible and the temperature LED indicator does not change when turning temperature selector
wheel may be caused by incorrect version software.

Remedy 1: 

Up to vehicle production 09/06, update the climate control module software with STAR Diagnosis version 01/07 (or later). Vehicles produced after
09/06 have updated software installed. Note: After software flash normalizing of stepper motors is required. Follow instructions in STAR Diagnosis.

Condition 2: 

LEDs on both temperature selector wheels flashing may be caused by the additional pump (M13) being coded "inactive".

Remedy 2: 

Code the additional water pump to "active" by using Star Diagnosis path: Control Units --> Air conditioning --> Control unit adaptations --> Read
coding and change if necessary --> Workshop coding 2 --> Additional water pump --> Code to 'Active'

Condition 3: 

LED on right temperature wheel flashes may be caused by a faulty duct temperature sensor or a faulty sensor connection.

Remedy 3: 

If a DTC is current or stored check the relevant sensor and connection. If no DTC is current or stored verify duct temperature sensor operation in actual
values and inspect sensor connections. Repair as necessary.
