Malfunction of Illuminated AMG Door Sill Moldings

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the illuminated AMG door sill moldings activating 20 seconds after the doors are
closed, even if the door is locked, the inverter in the accessory harness may be malfunctioning. To resolve, refer to the below.

1.

Inspect accessory wiring harness connectors. Ensure connectors are engaged completed into housings. Check for bent pins in the accessory
connector housings.

2.

If step 1 does not resolve complaint, check serial number listed on the inverter in the accessory harness. If serial number contains "421" (Arrow,
Figure 1), replace inverter with part number B6 689 0139 as per the WIS documents show.

The list shown identifies the affected accessory part numbers.

Note:

One inverter must be installed for each malfunctioning illuminated door sill.
